Perched in a Tree Bundle
Hello everyone, todays card is from the stampin’ up mini catalog. I was feeling like I needed a little coolness as right now it’s a warm 92 degrees. I made a small error on this card. I used DSP, designer series paper we no longer sell. But you could use paper from the “storybook gnomes” or “splendid day” paper pack. You could even make your own background paper using basic white, a blending brush and a dark blue, light blue ink. I’m so sorry for the mistake. But it gives you an idea of what you could do with this bundle. Okay lets get on to what you will need to make this simple card.
Here is what you will need…
Perched in a Tree bundle #159799 ,from the mini catalog
Deckled rectangles #159173, for label
Basic white cad stock #159276
Smoky slate ink #147113
Balmy Blue ink #147105
Stampin’ blends markers…
Balmy blue #154830
Crumb cake #154882
Wink of stella #141897
Paper trimmer #152392
Stamp blocks H #118490 and C #118486
Stampin’ cut & emboss machine #149653
Stampin’ dimensionals minis #144108
Any DSP (designer series paper) for background
Opal rounds #154289
Multipurpose liquid glue #110755
Let’s get to work. Take a piece of basic white card stock, 8 1/2 x 11, and cut it at 5 1/2 on the 11” side. Score it at 4 1/4. This will be your card base, set aside for now. Cut the other half of the white card stock to 4x 5 1/4. Then with the trees outline die from the bundle place the die in the middle of the white and run it through your die cutting machine. Cut you DSP just slightly smaller than the white piece you just cut out. Take your mini dimensionals and adhere them around the outside of the cut out tree piece and a few on some of the branches. Remove the backings from your dimensionals and very carefully lay it on the DSP paper. After you do that adhere it to the front of your card. Now with whats left over from the white card stock stamp the bird and branch with the smoky slate ink. Color the bird then cut both pieces out on the cutting machine using the coordinating dies. With the glue adhere the branch across the other branches about 2/3 of the way down. Now place a few dimensionals behind the bird trying to place them where the tree branches are, adhere the bird on the branch close to the left side. Now using the smallest deckled rectangle and hopefully you have a small piece of white left, cut out your banner. With the Balmy blue ink and a sponge dauber or what ever you’d like ink the edges of your banner. Then choose a sentiment to fit your banner and stamp it with smoky slate ink. Glue the banner to your card. Take your wink of stella and use some on the edges of the branches to make it look frosty. Then place you opal rounds on your card. All done! You might want do a little stamping on your envelope to give your recipient a sneak peek of whats inside. I hope you enjoy making this simple card.

Todays card was inspired by Jillibling.com on Pinterest. I did change up a couple of things. So lets get started.
“Season of Chic” #158810, for the sentiment
Smoky slate card stock #131202 cut at 8 1/2x 5 1/5, scored at 1 1/2 and 5 3/4 and a scrap for the tag
Petal pink card stock #146985, one piece cut at 5 1/4x 2 1/2 and one cut at 1 5/16x5 1/4
Basic white card stock #159276 cut at 2 1/8x 5 1/8 and 1x 5 1/8 and a scrap for the flower stamp and another panel for the inside cut at 5 1/4x 4
Bricks & mortar #149643
Pale Papapa stampin’ blends #155519
Mossy Meadow stampin’ blends #154890
Memento black ink #132708
Pale Papaya ink #1155619
Stamp block E #118484
Taylor made tags dies #155563 smallest one
Stampin’ cut & emboss machine #149653
Pearl basic jewels #144219
Linen thread #104199
Stampin’ dimenionals #104430
Paper trimmer #152393
Stampin’ seal #152814
Wink of Stella #141897
Now lets put it together:
Fold your card base to make a gate fold card. Adhere the Petal Pink panels to each side of the card front, (it was supposed to be pale papaya #155668). Emboss your two white panels using the Brinks & Mortar embossing folder and the embossing machine. Adhere the white panels on top of the petal pink panels. Now stamp and color your flowers using the blender pens. Take the coordinating die and cutting machine and cut out the flowers. Using the dimenionals pop up the left side of the flower cut out, make sure not to place any on the right side or your card will not open and adhere it in the middle of your card. On the scrap of smoky slate card stock, the sentiment from season of chic and the black ink, stamp your sentiment. Using the smallest tag die cut out your sentiment. Cut some of the linen twine and loop it through the hole in the tag. Adhere the tag to the front of the card above the flowers. Color three of the pearls with your papaya stampin’ blends and adhere to your card front. With the wink of Stella color the flowers. On the bottom of the inside white panel and pale papaya ink stamp the smaller flowers in the corner of panel and adhere to the inside of your card. If you would like you can also stamp the front of your envelope. And you are done with your card. I hope you enjoyed making the beautiful card.
