Featuring…

Butterflies and flowers layering decorative masks

Today I made this card for a color challenge. I wanted to use the layering masks.
The color challenge was to use the colors blushing bride, flirty flamingo, basic
white, calypso coral and pale papaya.

Supplies used and measurements,
159276 basic white card stock cut at 4x51/4 for inside, then white scraps for the butterfly and white decorative circle
131198 Blushing bride card stock cut at 41/4x11, scored at 51/2 and 1 1/4 inches cut off the bottom front.
147101 calypso coral card stock for decorative circle under butterfly
147100 blushing bride ink
147101 calypso coral ink
147052 flirty flamingo ink
155670 pale papaya ink
150697 Basic pattern decorative masks
155546 encircled in beauty die set, using the largest die on basic white
151605 painted labels dies, using the circle and decorative edge (cut two) from calypso coral card stock
155050 sweet as a peach stamp set, for the happy birthday
144219 basic pearls for center of butterfly
133773 sponge dauber
150673 mini cut& emboss machine
104430 stampin’ dimentionals
152813 stampin’ seal

Cut your card base at 41/4x11, fold at 51/2, cut 11/4 in off the bottom front, set aside. Take a piece of your white scrap and place down the flower mask first then place the butterfly mask on top of that. You can either tape it down or like me I have magnetic board I use to hold them down. Then using the pale papaya and calypso coral inks and a sponge dauber ink the mask inside the butterfly. Remove the mask and fussy cut around the butterfly shape. Cut out your two circles, white and calypso coral and the decorative edge (cut 2). Now to assemble your card, take the white circle and using the stampin’ seal tape it to the front of your card. Then do the same thing with the other circle. Next apply the tape to the center of the butterfly and lay in the middle of the circles. Place two dimensionals stacked under the top of each wing. Glue the decorative edging to the under side of the front of the card. Using calypso coral ink stamp your happy birthday or any sentiment you would like on the bottom of the 4x51/4 piece of basic white card stock. Then tape or glue that piece to the inside of card. Place the basic pearls on the butterfly. Done!

I hope you enjoyed this card. Everything I used can be purchased at…ruthgonzales.stampinup.net.
